Dos han sido los Catedráticos de la Universidad de Barcelona quienes democráticamente han tratado de ser la candidatura más votada y por tanto resultar elegidos con el importante Cargo de Presidente de la Reial Acadèmia de Doctors – RAD, Institución que lidera las investigaciones más representativas del País: El Dr. Josep Antoni Plana i Castellví y la presentada por el Dr. Alfredo Rocafort i Nicolau.
Las elecciones se iniciaron con la presentación de las dos candidaturas sus objetivos y logros, así como sus respectivos equipos.
Es justo reconocer la fortaleza de las dos candidaturas, y sus equipos compuestos por hombres y mujeres de la ciencia al más alto nivel de nuestro País, entre otros se contó con la presencia del Dr. Dexeus y el Dr. Barraquer.
Two professors at the University of Barcelona presented his candidature to be democratically elected to the important post of President of the Royal Academy of Doctors – RAD, Institution that leads the most representative works of research of the country: Dr. Josep Antoni Plana Castellvi and the one submitted by Dr. Alfredo Rocafort Nicolau.
The elections began with the presentation of the two candidatures, their objectives and achievements as well as their respective teams.
It is necessary to acknowledge the strength of the two candidates and their teams made up of men and women of science to the more high level of our country, among others were present in the meeting Dr. Dexeus and Dr. Barraquer.
Finalmente y tras un largo y apasionado debate en pro de la ciencia, ganó por una amplia victoria, con el doble de votos, la candidatura formada por el Dr. Alfredo Rocafort:

The new elected Board pledged to implement all measures enacted in its electoral programme as soon as possible, and intends to have the candidacy of Dr. Plana everything that is of interest to the Academy and the science of our country.
